The Wayzata High School Theatre Department is dedicated to nurturing the artistic and personal growth of its students by providing opportunities that celebrate, question, examine, and challenge the human experience through the art of theater.
Our goal is to create professional-quality theatrical productions with an eye to the educational value of a fine arts training. We strive to create an environment of artistic expression that is inclusive, entertaining, and inspiring. Through their work onstage, backstage, and in class, theater students develop empathy, curiosity, confidence, and the ability to take ownership over their creative process and product.
In our season planning, we intend to choose material that suits our students' current talents and abilities while aiming to continue to develop their skills as performers. By selecting plays and musicals from a wide range of theatrical periods and styles, we are able to give theater students a diverse array of performance opportunities.
