Fall Season Build Crews

Fall Season Run Crews

Stage  Management

We will continue to consider candidates for Assistant Stage Manager and Deck Chief if the position is available for a particular show. Please express interest by emailing Dennis Joslyn.

Crew  Coordinators  and  Leads

New for 2020-2021

Positions are still available, contact the Technical Director (Dennis Joslyn) if interested in applying for a leadership position.

Crew Coordinators are students who will be expected to lead the creation process of their department. For instance, a Carpentry Coordinator will assign teams and jobs as well as push the whole shop to stay on task and be productive. Crew Coordinators will be a part of the discussion regarding who is assigned to run crew in their fields. For example, the Electrician Coordinator for the fall musical will be included in the discussion about the candidates for running the light board and spotlights for that production.

Crew Leads are students who will be expected to be able to lead an assigned task during any given crew session. For instance, a Lead Carpenter would be assigned to lead a smaller group of students in the process of building a 4' x 8' platform, or a Lead Props Artisan may be asked to fully complete the creation of making a birthday cake.

Crew Coordinators and Crew Leads will be students who are well respected as knowledgeable in the department assigned. This means they are usually great candidates for the department's run crew position(s) as well. However, the two positions are not inherently tied together and you may be a Crew Coordinator or Crew Lead even if you have a conflict with tech week or a performance and it is possible to not be awarded a run crew position if you are in either position. Crew Coordinators and Crew Leads must apply for run crew positions if they are interested.

Roles will only be filled as it is developmentally appropriate for the students. Also, some positions may be left open in order to see if any student steps up in the first half of the year and is interested to try a leadership role in the second half. In addition, it is possible that a student who auditions for a play but does not get cast may then be a good fit for a leadership role that is currently vacant.

The work of these leadership roles will be assumed by adult staff when necessary. This is an opportunity for students who are interested and ready for a leadership position to continue their growth as artists and as people.

The Tech Leaders for 2020-2021 were decided by the Tech Director in collaboration with the Tech Council.
